Create a life that is energising, loving and patient.
When we spend time in rumination, worrying about the future and worrying about the past it is so incredibly draining. It drains our energy, our time, our resources, our relationships. It can be unnecessary and wasteful.
Do you spend a lot of time worrying? Much of our worrying is time not very well spent.
Spend Energy Wisely
If we put a loudspeaker on the car and allowed our thoughts to be played out to all of the community I think most of us would be surprised to find that we are quite repetitive in our thinking. The same old thought comes back again and again and (yes, you guessed it) that same old thought AGAIN! It might be helpful to recognise that this is absolutely normal. The mind has a job to do and that is to solve every little problem that comes its way. However, what if the issue cannot be solved. Such as the rejection of a friend or the loss of a loved one. Or perhaps our perception of a situation is incorrect. How we see it is not necessarily the way it is. We can go around and around in circles distressing ourselves further. What may be needed here is time to sit in quiet contemplation to acknowledge these runaway thoughts and to spend time simply connecting to the feelings and emotions around the situation that is nagging constantly. (#quietcontemplation #patience #seeingclearly)
In spending time in this way the mind begins to slow down, the breathing slows down, we return to a place of balance, a place of equanimity. In this place of stillness we are resting body and mind.
Worrying, ruminating, frustration and lack of patience are all "energysucks" so let your sense of calm shine through with this practice and lift your spirits and energy.
How We Re-energise through Mindful Practices
Observing the breath slows down the rate of respiration

Improves immune system
Cultivates resilience
Invitations to a short practice now:
Ask yourself - How am I using energy now?
How is my breath in this moment? Holding the breath or any disruption of our natural breathing pattern can drain energy.
How is my posture serving my energy levels?
Do I place pressure on my self to feel energetic all of the time?
Can I recognise when my energy is low and give a sense of respect towards that feeling rather than further depleting it through feelings of disappointment or "pushing oneself".
Enjoy an energy boost when you free yourself from unnecessary tension and feelings of pressure that come from within yourself.
Wishing you a brightness and enlivened sense in the practice.
